Hi ! This is "Nancy" and Roger ! Thanks very much for the very good and tasty food we had. The monk fish was very nice and other dishes were fresh and cooked properly. The service was very good and professional enough; the service team provided good suggestions and drinks and food were brought to us promptly. I don't understand why other people complained ? The atmosphere was what is to be expected from family -run restaurant located on a busy pier, ie., it was laid-back, lively and no-fuss which made us felt relaxed. (people watching was great too !). Overall we were happy and will return if we are in San Sebastian again.

Really fresh simple seafood beautifully cooked. Great service with staff who seamlessly went from Spanish Basque French English and Italian!!! Great value with million dollar views.

Igeldo Jatetxea is a welcoming Basque seafood haven perched right on the Donostia waterfront. With a fabulous terrace, it offers breathtaking views of La Concha Bay and a serene maritime ambience. From the moment you arrive, the staff create a warm and attentive experience, especially if you approach them with respect. It’s clear they take pride in their work and appreciate when diners treat them with the same courtesy. In return, you'll be met with genuine hospitality that makes you feel right at home. The menu is concise but full of flavour, focusing on impeccably fresh seafood: grilled hake, scallops, squid in its ink, turbot, hearty fish soups, all beautifully prepared and rooted in Basque tradition. One of the restaurant’s standout features is its gluten-free offering: nearly 98% of the menu is safe for coeliacs, handled with great care. If you're looking for a flavourful meal by the sea with great hospitality and a lovely view Igeldo is a memorable choice.

There are many seafood restaurants in San Sebastian but not many that delivers on fresh produce, relaxed alfresco dining with casual ambiance away from the hustle and bustle of the old town. Located at the end of the series of restaurants along the pier, overlooking Pier 1 and La Concha in the distance, this is a great place for a seafood lunch, with sun, sea, people and boat watching. Whole Turbot was perfectly cooked. Octopus was tender but just enough bite. Squid was well seasoned and tender. Txakoli and Kalimotxos paired well with the seafood. The laid back yet professional service from the multilingual staff made it a pleasant and relaxing lunch. Whislt the place did get full pretty quickly we never felt rushed to leave which meant we could feel at ease and take our time enjoying the food and view. Be sure to arrive at opening time for lunch as it fills up pretty quickly within the hour due to it's popular location along the pier leading to the Aquarium and Euskal Itsas Museum. Arriving early meant we were able to grab a front row view of the pier. Thank you for a lovely meal and we look forward to visiting again!

Another seafood restaurant I was given as a recommendation, and it totally exceeded my expectations. Seating is covered, but in the open air on the harbour side, with views of San Sebastian in the distance - a perfect setting. The service was friendly and although the restaurant was busy, we didn't have to wait too long before we were seated. We had fried calamari, loads of scallops (3 portions in total), tomato and tuna salad, served up with that fantastic Basque cider (Sidra), and lemon beer (Damm Lemon). It was all delicious and super fresh. One of the best lunches I've had in San Sebastian, and again, something other than pintxos. Thanks to Nathan and his team - a truly delightful gastronomic experience that I would recommend to everyone!! Meal for 5 people with drinks and coffee came to €140.

Before we go there, we call them we want to make a reservation, but the man said no need to make the reservation, waiting normally 5 mins, but when we arrive, there are two tables had the reservation. We waited around 10 mins, then the food is worthy and delicious, so I gave the full score. The waiter recommended the fish, it was amazing.
